Luisa has just been selected as one of the 40 Hispanic Leaders under 40 in AZ.
She is a member of the National Lavender Green Caucus.
I am running as a Candidate because I want to continue making a positive and progressive difference in our community. By running for an elected office, I feel it will be an opportunity to utilize our legislative system to help develop and implement well needed change for our district as well as our state.
As a Green Party candidate, I represent the opportunity for voters to experience another point of view. I will:
I’ve written three U.S. Supreme Court petitions on recognition of LGBT
(Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered) families. None of them were
heard by the Court, but I will continue to put the issue in front of them as
often as I can.
I also marched with NOW (National Organization for Women) in support of
the Equal Rights Amendment, participated in anti-war marches from
Vietnam through Iraq and Afghanistan, and have lobbied for civil unions
both locally and in Springfield.
I believe that SB1070 does nothing to secure our neighborhoods, create jobs, or strengthen Federal Immigration Reform so I do NOT support enforcing a broken policy built on fear and discrimination.

Marriage Equality
We must recognize full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered sisters and brothers. DOMA, ‘Defense of Marriage,’ is a cruel joke. Ironically, the military in certain instances can lead in changing the norm. Did not Truman racially integrate the armed forces, bringing us closer to an egalitarian society? In repealing DADT, ‘Don't Ask Don't Tell,’ the military will help shift our standards regarding same-sex marriage and survivor benefits and all the ramifications of equality before the law. In decency and fairness, protection from discrimination against LGBT's must be guaranteed also in the workplace and at school.
Bob is a member of the National Lavender Green Caucus.
