INTERNATIONAL LGBT GREENS
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Group of England and Wales
The mission of the national LGBT Green Group (LGBT-G) is to advance lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality in our society and to raise awareness and understanding of Green and progressive values among LGBT people. LGBT-G aims to build a more sustainable and equal society where everyone is valued as an individual. The diversity within the LGBT community enriches all our lives, and should be encouraged and promoted. We will stand up for what we believe in, regardless of hostile media coverage.
The Greens NSW believe that the acceptance of diversity, including human sexual diversity, is the key to survival and that homosexuality, bisexuality and transgender along with heterosexuality, are legitimate aspects of human sexual diversity.

People who define their social, cultural and political identities according to their homosexuality, bisexuality or transgender exist in every human society. However, some societies, including contemporary Australian society, establish heterosexuality as the most valid form of human sexuality. This devalues and marginalises lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and assigns them to an inferior social, cultural and political status.

For over twenty years lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Australians have struggled against discrimination and prejudice and for recognition, equality, acceptance, dignity, emancipation and self determination. The Greens NSW acknowledge and support that struggle.
